“Mathematics may not teach us how o add love or minus hate. But it gives us every reason to hope that every problem has a solution”
SHS Raising Mathlete competition is an annual mathematics event that showcases the math prowess and brilliance of our amazing pupils. The event this year took place on the 21st of June 2022. Pupils from the reception class up to year six participated in the competition.
The main goal of the SHS Raising Mathlete competition is to “provide a challenging, engaging mathematical experience [that] is both competitive and educational.” It is to also “stimulate enthusiasm and a love for mathematics, introduce important mathematical concepts, teach major strategies for problem-solving, develop mathematical flexibility in solving problems, strengthen mathematical intuition, foster mathematical creativity, and ingenuity, and provide for the satisfaction, joy, and thrill of meeting challenges.”
It was a wonderful experience this year with the pupils showcasing their love for mathematics and winning amazing prizes.
